What qualities make a good Mary Kay Consultant?
Successful Mary Kay Consultants have a positive outlook-they look for the good in people and situations. They are open to learning and readily accept suggestions for running their business. Good consultants understand that success comes from setting goals and staying focused on those goals. They keep their eye on the big picture, and know that "the sky is the limit" for women in sales.
What are the benefits of being a Mary Kay Consultant?
There are many benefits, but high commissions is one of the most attractive. Mary Kay Cosmetics offers the industry's highest Direct Selling Commission: profit is 50% of retail sales. Most other companies offer 20-35%.
Another benefit is the flexibility; consultants can conduct appointments at their convenience, make their own hours, and set their own schedules. You can climb the ladder to success at your own pace!
Mary Kay products are top quality. When you believe wholeheartedly in the products you're selling, it makes your job much easier! Mary Kay is the #1 best selling brand of facial skin care and color cosmetics in the United States, and has been for many years.
What do your current unit members value most about being Mary Kay Consultants?
They love that they help women look good and feel good, and that they can have fun in their business. They love having a business that generates a generous income. The flexibility, the chance to be your own boss, feeling appreciated, being a part of a team-these are the reasons why my consultants love Mary Kay. They also love the fact that, because the products are "consumable," there is constant repeat business. And because our customers love Mary Kay products so much, repeat business is almost guaranteed!
What is the advantage of working with you to become a Mary Kay Consultant?
Even though I'm a Sales Director, I'm out in the field every day, just like my consultants! My unit members have strong team spirit and feel appreciated and cared for. They know that I am always available for encouragement, ideas, and motivation. I also offer them ongoing education and training opportunities, which are important tools for creating and sustaining a successful business.
What are the requirements to become a Mary Kay Consultant?
All that is required to become a consultant is to order a starter kit, which contains training materials including:
A Consultant's guide, a CD, and a DVD
Mirrors, trays, and product samples
Full size products to use as demonstrators
Two tote bags
sales slips, profile cards and color cards
and much more. The cost is only $100, plus local tax and shipping
Do new consultants have to undergo training?
Training is available on a weekly basis and is on-going. Consultants receive training materials with their starter kit. As their Sales Director, I offer many opportunities for training and education, whether it's local, regional, or over the Internet. Local training is free of charge, and is scheduled at a time that's most convenient for my consultants.
Is selling May Kay products multi-level marketing?
No, it is not multi-level marketing. You will be mentored and trained by your Sales Director, but you will be an independent Consultant. Your Sales Director is paid directly by the company, and does not receive part of your profit. You purchase your products from Mary Kay Cosmetics at the wholesale price, sell them at retail price, and the difference is your profit. You receive the same discounts on products as all other consultants and all other Sales Directors and National Sales Directors.
Would I have my own territory?
No, there are no territories. You can sell product and sponsor Consultants into the business anywhere within the United States. If you develop a relationship with a customer, other consultants respect and honor that relationship.
Can I keep my full-time job and still be a Mary Kay Consultant?
Absolutely. This business is designed to fit those with the busiest schedules. Many of our consultants have children, work full time, volunteer, and bring their children to numerous activities-and still find time to develop and service their customers. Some Consultants conduct their business in just three hours each month, some work three hours each week, and others work three hours each day. It's completely individualized.
